Steve... I have seen others running with the brace. I considered it, but I was worried that it would chaffe (sp?). I should try it on a short run.

Jeff... My doc gave me a knee brace. I wear it when I am on my feet like when I am coaching football. It seems to help. I guess I should try it on a run.

Annie... Good job on your run! Its good to run outside. I often use the treadmill for some of my short runs when I go to the gym during my lunch break. For me, the boredom is hard to overcome.

Agreed on everything you said... keep your aerobic abilities up with non-impact exercises but still keep the legs trained is totally important. I went for a run this weekend... really short 3 miles... and my feet are killing me! I haven't run on pavement in about a month (do runs mostly on the treadmill) but I'm paying for it now.

And I like what Jeff said about the brace. See if it helps.

I was thinking the same thing as Steve when I read your post. It seems in the videos people were wearing braces. This could help prevent the locking up and keep you from going down and also spread the weight more evenly across the knee.

Boomer, are you wearing a brace or knee wrap? While searching your injury, I saw plenty of pictures and videos with knee braces in them.

I hope your PT goes well today.
