Workout: P90X Week 3 Chest and Back, Bike 20 Miles

I did chest and back this morning. To get more resistance I substituted the pushups with dumbbell bench presses for the second half of the chest workout. Again, I felt that the workout was moving kind of slow so I hit the next button to quickly go to the next exercise. I wanted to keep my heart rate up. Instead of pull ups I used my Tower 200 for a change. Its good to change things up to keep the workouts interesting. Immediately after the chest and back workout I did Ab Ripper X. ARX gave me a bit of challenge this morning. Whenever I do ARX directly after my main workout it gives me a bad time. I normally like to do it as a separate workout later in the day.
Later in the day I jumped on my bike for a 20 mile ride. The ride was right in the middle of the rush hour. I don’t normally like riding during the commuting hours, but I just needed to do some sort of aerobic workout. Running would have been a better choice if I could count on my injured knee. However, I didn’t want to deal with the knee pain. Fortunately, the ride was uneventful.

Nice double workout out day! I am always scarred to bike during rush hour. I even avoid my neighborhood from 4pm-7pm … people just have their heads buried so far up their asses by this time of the day that getting hit by them is a real concern.
I used my cable gym for all of the pullup exercises during my P90X circuit. It made all the difference. Using your Tower 200 adds a whole new dimension, though what will you do for the towel pull ups during Back and Biceps?
Hi Boomer,
The Ab Ripper X sounds painful and challenging:) Nice workout and way to get in a 20 mile bike ride!! Go you:) Have a good one Boomer!
Jeff… Yes, riding during rush hour is not a good thing. I don’t like it too. I was living dangerously yesterday.
Steve… I like the cable gym with weights the best. The Tower 200 is a pretty good alternative, especially since I can use it at home. As for the towel pushups, I just do regular pulldowns.
Julie… After a while, Ab Ripper X gets fairly easy. Since I am starting P90X again, I need to get re-acquinted with the workout. However, I admit that the very first time I did the workout, I got owned. I enjoyed the bike ride, although the rush hour traffic was a bummer.
