I have a wife and 4 children. Three out of four of our kids are living on their own. Two of them are married with children of their own. Yes, I have grandchildren… 6 to be exact and one on the way. We still have a young son, 8 years old, living at home. On November 9, 2007 I decided that I needed to take care of my health and get fit so that I could be around for my son. I was taking medication for high blood pressure and cholestorol. I also had pretty severe sleep apnea. Oh, and it was hard to bend over to put on my socks!
I had an uphill battle, but I knew that I needed to “git ‘er done”! A weight loss bet at work was all I needed to get kick-started. I watched what I ate and I exercised like there was not tomorrow. In about 3 months I lost 50 pounds.
Since that time I have done 2 rounds of P90X and ran my first triathlon. I also lost a few more pounds. I am currently doing Insanity. Who knows what I will do next?
Oh, by the way, I no longer take any medication, I don’t have sleep apnea and putting on my socks is really easy now!
Take care,
Boomer
